Today we prepared vegetables for our cawl- broth. Children handled a vareity of vegetables, smelled them, helped to chop them. They were able to talk about the safe use of knives. The cawl was cooked and the children thoroughly enjoyed eating it. We are continuing to look at the shapes, taste and texture of these vegetables- onions, carrots, parsnips, potatoes, leek.

We are still talking about 3D shapes- building with them, talking about their properties- which ones roll, which shapes have sides.
